| Day :1 |
| Explore the Golden Triangle. Pick up at 08:30. Visit the hilltribe project at Doi Tung. Continue into Mai Sai for a stop at the bridge to Myanmar and shopping for Burmese souvenirs followed by lunch. Continue to Golden Triangle and drive along the Mekong river to Chiang Saen for a visit to the 14th century ruins. Leaving Chiang Saen, continue by road to Chiang Khong. Overnight at Ban Golden Triangle, overlooking the Mekong river. (L, D) |
| Day :2 |
| Explore Chiang Khong. Rise early in the morning and visit the market where you will see the Hmong hilltribe villagers buy their daily produce. Return to Ban Golden Triangle for breakfast and continue visiting villages in the area. Lunch is taken at a local restaurant overlooking the spot where giant Mekong catfish are caught by local fishermen. After lunch, return to Chiang Rai, arriving in the late afternoon. (B, L) |
